摘要 A graduated and transparent vertical test-tube (12) has an inlet orifice (13) with a calibrated tap (15) placed radially at its base (14). A piston (16) with a density below that of the oil to be sampled is placed so the sliding play allows air to pass to the top of the test-tube. There is at least one purge line (18) and means of measuring the temperature of oil in the test- tube. An independent claim is also included for a method of measuring the amount of air present in a hydraulic control oil using a device as described above. The test-tube is pre-filled to the level of the inlet with air-less oil; the inlet taps are closed and the means of purge placed between the sampling point and the test-tube; the pipe is purged; the oil is sampled and the tap opening calibrated; the tap and then the means of purge are closed at the end of sampling; the temperature of the sampled oil and its initial volume are measured simultaneously by position (P1) of the piston in the test-tube. A second stabilization phase is measured when the air has passed through the play around the piston. The temperature of the de-aerated oil is measured together with its final volume using the piston position (P2) and the amount of air present is calculated, allowing for change in oil volume if the temperature has changed.
