PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing machine for an empty container, which can crush a large-quantity container such as an 18-liter can into a flat shape with a small pressing force. SOLUTION: In the crushing machine, a pressure receiving block 16 is arranged on a base 1, and a pressurizing block 17 is arranged being opposite to and above the pressure receiving block 16. By lowering the pressurizing block 17, a body part 29 between a top plate 27 and a bottom plate 28 of an empty container 26, which is laid on its side on the pressure receiving block 16, is sandwiched between the blocks 16, 17 and is compressively deformed. Further in the crushing machine, an upper part one-way pushing part 19, which slantly deforms the top plate 27 (or the bottom plate 26) by one-way pushing the upper inner face of the plate 27 (or the plate 26) approaching in a relative direction with the compressive deformation, is provided outside the pressurizing block 17; a bottom part one-way pushing part 18, which slantly deforms the bottom plate 28 (or the top plate 27) by one-way pushing the bottom inner face of the plate 28 (or the plate 27), is provided outside the pressure receiving block 16.
