PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch operation part for an electric reel, having improved assemblage of the operation part and waterproofness of a detection part. SOLUTION: A speed change lever 13 for the electric reel has the operation part 16 freely swingably installed on the outside of a side cover 9b and a swinging shaft 17 having one end connected to the operation part 16 and the other end unrotatably connected to a potentiometer 14 and arranged along the revolving shaft of a spool 10. The side cover 9b projected from inside to outside, further has an inwardly recessed storage part 9c and a bottomed cylindrical case part 15 is mounted from the inside of the reel body 1 on the storage part 9c.
