PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small stepping motor producing a required detent torque through a simple structure. SOLUTION: The stepping motor comprises a rotor having four magnetic poles, a first magnetic pole being excited by a first coil, a second magnetic pole being excited by a second coil, and a third magnetic pole being excited by the first and second coils wherein the gap d between the first and second magnetic poles and the rotor is set such that magnetic attraction is generated between the magnetic pole of the rotor and the first and second magnetic poles, and the gap D between the third magnetic pole and the rotor is formed larger than the gap d. When this stepping motor is applied to the shutter driving section of a camera, shutter state can be held surely even when power is not supplied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
