PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating efficiency by reducing the cooling time after completing a drying operation in a dryer. SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine 100 is provided with a refrigerant circuit 20 having a storage chamber 10 storing washed articles, performing drying operation for the washed articles in the storage chamber 10 and cooling operation after completing the drying operation, and formed by annularly connecting, to pipes, a compressor 21, a gas cooler 22, an expansion valve 23, and an evaporator 24 in that order, an air circulation route 72 for circulating air, by a blower 75, from the gas cooler 22 to the evaporator 24 through the inside of the storage chamber 10, and an external radiator 91 installed on the outside of the air circulation route 72. In the drying operation, after the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 21 is allowed to flow into the gas cooler 22, radiated, and depressurized by the expansion valve 23, the refrigerant is evaporated by the evaporator 24. In the cooling operation, the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 21 is allowed to flow into the external radiator 91 and radiated, and evaporated by the evaporator 24 after being depressurized by the expansion valve 23.
