PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration isolation device and a material which has a small spring constant and excellent vibration isolation properties, which can be manufactured easily using an inexpensive material and which can be assembled easily and can improve the assembling. SOLUTION: This vibration isolation device is provided with a vibration isolation material 50 between a mechanism deck 30 and a case body 20, and the mechanism deck 30 is supported elastically on the case body 20. The vibration isolation material 50 consists of a foam block plate punched at the outer peripheral edge with an engaging hole 51 to insert an arm material 60 provided at the mechanical deck 30. The block body is provided with a slit 82 on each surface of the bock body excluding planes in which the engaging hole 51 of the block body is provided. Further, penetrating holes 83, 84 are provided at the four corners of the surface at which the engaging hole 51 is pierced in the same direction as the piercing direction of the engaging hole.
