PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and data structure for addressing cells in a slave device to attain original random access as to a method and data structure for addressing cells in devices connected via a bus. SOLUTION: After addressing a slave, a master transmits a data mode signal in which information concerned with the number of cell address bytes and the number of data bytes to be transmitted thereafter is included, and then transmits an address cell signal.
