PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method capable of performing a tetrahedral interpolation at high speed even if data before interpolation are not grid-like data. SOLUTION: This device comprises a grid-like interpolation table formation part for forming a cube inscribed in a space formed by a table data string before interpolation and equally axially dividing the inner part thereof to determine the values after interpolation of respective equally divided points by tetrahedral interpolation; a data input part; a respective axial maximum value/minimum value calculation part; a tetrahedral interpolation part; an interpolation table (original); an interpolation table (grid-like); and a respective axial maximum value/minimum value storage part.
