PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the nonfeasibility of a stable extrusion process due to insufficient kneading of an acrylic resin with an imidating agent in an extruder according to current methods comprising adding the imidating agent to the acrylic resin in the extruder to produce an imidated acrylic resin. SOLUTION: The method comprises adding the imidating agent to the acrylic resin in the extruder and kneading to react in order to manufacture the imidated acrylic resin and is characterized by setting the temperature of the cylinder of the extruder at 150°C or higher and lower than 200°C to realize a stable extrusion process.
