PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing anα-substituted norbornanyl acrylate compound, which is suitable for producing the compound in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This method for producing theα-substituted norbornanyl acrylate compound is characterized by directly reacting anα-substituted acryloyl chloride with a substituted norbornanyl alcohol. The reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of a base. The base is preferably at least one compound selected from the group consisting of trimethylamine, triethylamine, pyridine, 2,6-dimethylpyridine, dimethylaminopyridine, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide.
