<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for mounting electronic component using a tape feeder that can simultaneously take out a plurality of components with a simple mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: In the device which picks up electronic components from the tape feeder and mounts the components on a substrate by means of a transfer head, first and second component taking-out positions P1 and P2 are set at the picking-up positions of the transfer head and two openings 16a are provided in a shutter member 16 correspondingly to the component taking-out positions P1 and P2. The device is constituted to respectively position the electronic components on the component taking-out positions P1 and P2 by simultaneously opening and closing the upper parts of the positions P1 and P2 by means of the shutter member 16 and, at the same time, by feeding a tape pitch by pitch, and to simultaneously pick up the electronic components by means of a plurality of suction nozzles. Consequently, the simultaneous taking out of the plurality of components by means of the plurality of suction nozzles can be realized with a simple mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
