摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of adverse effects caused by a downward flow and an upward flow resulting from a molten metal injection flow into a mold, and to further improve electromagnetic stirring effects, in the mold in a continuous casting method and a continuous casting device for manufacturing a cast slab by injecting molten metal into the mold. SOLUTION: A box body 3, which has a closed space so as to surround the molten metal injection flow, is provided in the mold for the continuous casting. Further, the box body 3 has one or more opening parts 5. The opening part 5 is not provided to a part of the box body 3, where the molten metal flow 13a discharged from a discharge port 4 via an injection nozzle 2 collides against the box body 3. Also, the box body 3, which has a weir 9 whose bottom part is closed at a part immediately below the molten metal injection flow, and further, in which the bottom part is open so as to surround the weir 9, is provided in the mold for the continuous casting. A molten metal head inside the box body is set higher than the molten metal head outside the box body. The molten metal is made to flow out from the opening part 5 of the box body 3.
