METHOD FOR MACHINING LENS HOLDER, AND LENS CENTERING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a lens holder in a lens grinding machine with low-cost structure without needing skill by providing a technological means which accurately machines the lens holder by numerical control without detaching the lens holder from the lens grinding machine for machining a lens in the state of holding a spherical surface by the lens holder. SOLUTION: A cutting tool 57 for machining the lens holder is mounted in an advancing/receding or detachable manner to a tool rest for mounting a lens machining grinding wheel or other tools 6 originally provided in the lens grinding machine, and the moving position of the cutting tool 57 is controlled under the control of an NC unit originally provided at the lens grinding machine, to achieve machining of lens holder by numerical control on the lens grinding machine.
