PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that each sewing advantageous point in a horizontal shuttle position, a vertical shuttle position and a vertical front shuttle position cannot be shared because the position of a rotating hook bobbin holder for holding a thread bobbin, and the position of a rotating hook rotated on the outside to scoop up a needle thread when a sewing needle comes into a lower position, are fixed in horizonal and vertical directions. SOLUTION: In this shuttle position changing device for a sewing machine, the positions of the rotating hook bobbin holder for holding the bobbin, the rotating hook rotating around the outer periphery, and a support for supporting the rotating hook, are vertically rotated by 90°from the horizontal shuttle position into the vertical shuttle position, or vertically rotated by 90°from the horizontal shuttle position into the vertical front position, or horizontally rotated by 90°from the vertical front shuttle position into the vertical shuttle position according to sewing application, or the reverse position change is performed manually or automatically synchronizing with pattern selection to acquire all the optimum positions of the shuttle for ways of sewing and easy insertion of the thread bobbin in one sewing machine.
