PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device which automatically discriminates whether or not a secondary battery can be charged. SOLUTION: A switching circuit 11 is provided between the positive terminal 31 of a charger 10 and the positive output terminal 33 of the charging device 20 electrically connected to the positive terminal 31. Based on pull-up voltage or pull-down voltage outputted from a charging OK identification terminal 38 which is connected to a positive terminal 35 or a negative terminal 36 of a secondary battery 18 for pull-up or pull-down, the switch circuit 11 is ON-OFF controlled which performs constant-current operations under control of a control circuit 12.
