PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush for applying a liquid cosmetic that radially spreads the tip, uniformly transmits the pressure of the brush to the nails and is easy to use. SOLUTION: Circular arc extended portions 9 extended in the extending direction of a bristle tuft 4 are provided oppositely to the elongated periphery of the mouth of a bristle transplanting hole 3. The mouth portion of the bristle tuft 4 transplanted to the bristle transplantation hole 3 has a nearly square section and the ratio of the long side to the short side is 3/2 or higher. The ratio of the radius of the circular arc of the extended portions 9 to the length of the long edge portion 8b is 1/2 to 5/6. Since the extended portion is formed into a circular arc, the tip of the brush radially spreads and uniformly transmits the pressure to the nails in the action of applying a cosmetic.
