PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical disk from falling down when erroneously fitting the optical disk in an optical disk device for performing reproduction and/or recording operation by retaining the optical disk in a vertical direction. SOLUTION: A disk loading section 2 of the optical disk device has a lever 4 rotating about a rotary shaft 41 as the center. The lever 4 has a disk reception section 5 for receiving the optical disk 10 and a boss contact section 6 coming into contact with a boss 31 in a cover door 3. When the cover door 3 is open, the lever 4 is rotated and energized at a position, where the disk reception section 5 can receive the optical disk 10 by a spring 42, and the optical disk 10 to be fitted is received for preventing falling. Contrarily, when the cover door 3 is in closing operation, the lever 4 is rotated by pressing the boss contact section 6 by the boss 31 and the disk reception section 5 is moved to a position, where the disk reception section 5 does not come into contact with the optical disk 10 retained by a turntable 22.
