PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint collating device for accurately executing fingerprint collation even when the angle of the finger of a user placed for fingerprint collation largely shifts compared with the previously recorded registration image data of the finger of the user. SOLUTION: This fingerprint collating device is provided with an image sensor having a mechanism to rotate within the range of a predetermined angle, a control part which controls the rotation of the image sensor, an image reading part which continuously reads the collation images of fingerprints by each fixed angle according as the image sensor rotates by the predetermined angle and an image recognizing part which selects the collation image having almost the same angle as the angle of the finger of the previously recorded registration image from among a plurality of read collation images, and collates it with the registration image.
