PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically transferring a terminating signal in a communication equipment and a method therefore are provided to smoothly use supplemental functions, without being obstructed due to call reception, etc., by automatically transferring a terminating signal or intercepting the output of the terminating signal while a supplemental function is being used. CONSTITUTION: A main control part judges whether a supplemental function part is in an operation-on state(210). If the supplemental function part is in the operation-on state, the main control part reads a memory part in order to judge whether a terminating signal automatic transfer mode is set(214). In case that the terminating signal automatic transfer mode is set, the main control part judges whether an initial terminating signal is identical to a terminating signal in the operation of a supplemental function(215). If the initial terminating signal is a vibration mode and the terminating signal in the operation of a supplemental function is an LED mode, the main control part executes terminating signal transfer from the initial terminating signal to the terminating signal in the operation of a supplemental function(216). Accordingly, the supplemental function part can be smoothly operated even though a call is received while the supplemental function part is being used, as the terminating signal is the LED mode.
