<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of maintaining suitable white balance of a screen even when brightness of the display screen varies. <P>SOLUTION: The display device for displaying an image corresponding to a video signal on a display panel where a plurality of display cells for displaying pixel signals having different luminescent colors from one another is arrayed in a matrix form according to their signal levels, is provided with; a brightness level calculation means for calculating emission brightness of a display image and generating a brightness level signal for indicating an emission brightness level; and a light emission level correction means for correcting the signal levels of the pixel signals contained in the video signal according to this brightness level signal for every emitted light color of each pixel signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
