PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for folding a mattress while preventing a separation and deterioration of bonded parts in the proximity of a folding line. SOLUTION: A core material 1 for the mattress comprises a first sheet body 3 having a myriad of protrusions 7 on the upper surface and a second sheet body 5 which is bonded to the surface with protrusions 7 and is glued together. A plurality of protrusions 7 on the first sheet body 3 are adjacently arranged in the direction slanting +45 degrees to the longer side. Each protrusion 7 is formed into a truncated pyramid shape having lower sides of a length W1, upper sides of a length W2 and a protruding height H1, and the side surface of the protrusion 7 is in parallel with the direction of the protrusions arranged adjacently. The protruding height H1 is approximately half the distance L1 between the center axes of two protrusions 7 located in the direction keeping at 45 degrees to the direction in which the protrusions are arranged adjacently.
