PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for inspecting a glass container capable of reading a heel code of a bottle. SOLUTION: This machine is used for inspecting the heel code of a bottle. The bottle is supported in the vertical direction on an inspection position, and a camera having an image region is arranged below the bottle in the vertical direction. An annular ring illumination arranged in the horizontal direction directs an annular beam of light upward toward the heel code of the supported bottle, and light reflected from the heel code is reflected by an annular concave face arranged concentrically under the annular ring illumination toward the image region of the camera.
