EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR SMOKING TIMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and a method for smoking timber which give sufficient moisture to the timber irrespective of the quality of the timber and thereby prevent the timber from cracking and which uniformly smokes the timber at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the smoking treatment, water vapor generated by a water vapor generator 12, water vapor generated from fuel and wood and a large quantity of water vapor generated from an excess water vapor generating part 16 are introduced directly into a smoking treatment chamber 14 . Sufficient moisture can be given to the timber irrespective of the quality of the timber and the uniform smoking treatment can be performed, while no crack occurs in the timber. The excess water vapor generating part 16 uses smoke and the water vapor as heat sources and the water vapor generated in a large quantity from this part 16 is introduced directly into the smoking treatment chamber 14.
