PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely carry out maintenance work of a conveying device 10 or the like and to simply carry out switch operation therefor, in an article storage facility having the conveying device 10 reciprocated between a storage shelf and an article conveying out/in part to convey the article. SOLUTION: After an internal operation mode is selected by operating a mode switching switch 28 positioned at the outside a conveying passage moved with the conveying device 10, it enters the conveying passage from maintenance doors 6, 7. When the maintenance doors 6, 7 are opened, the fact is detected by maintenance door switches 23, 24 and power feed to the conveying device 10 is stopped. When internal electricity feed switches 30, 31 positioned at the inside the conveying passage are operated and an external electricity feed switch 29 positioned at the outside the conveying passage is operated, the power feed to the conveying device 10 can be restarted. The mode switching switch 28, the internal electricity feed switches 30, 31 and the external electricity feed switch 29 are operated by the same detachable operation key 35.
