An induction heating cooker comprising an infrared sensor for detecting an infrared intensity from a load pot, a waveguide for guiding infrared radiation from the load pot up to the infrared sensor, and a first magnetism-proofing unit and a second magnetism-proofing unit for reducing magnetic fluxes leaking from a heating coil. The waveguide so constructed as to be disposed below the top surface of the second magnetism-proofing unit can reduce the waveguide self-heating by magnetic fluxes from the heating coil. Consequently, the temperature rise of the infrared sensor by radiation heat from the waveguide can be reduced to thereby improve a temperature detection accuracy by the infrared sensor.
