The cylinder liner (20) is sand- or chill-cast in closed-deck mode as against housing (22) which is pressure diecast. Screws for the cylinder head are anchored one side in channels cast onto the liner and screws (30) for the crankshaft bearings (1i). The channels (20f) are tapped (32) for the screws (30) and are cast onto the casing wall (20b) and the cylinder walls (20a).
