<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program for quickly inputting signs corresponding to the name of an element in a signed document such as a patent specification. <P>SOLUTION: When an appropriate operation is performed while a document is being editted, such as word processing, at least the following procedures (1) to (5) are performed: (1) the name of an element ("wheel" in the representative drawing) is extracted from a character string inputted at the editing position of the document; (2) the document is searched for the name of the element ("wheel") extracted; (3) the character string including the position under search is taken out of the document and analyzed to obtain signs "6", "7" which correspond to the name of the element ("wheel") extracted in (1); (4) when a plurality of signs are obtained, the signs are selectably arranged and displayed on a screen (they are depicted as displayed in the representative drawing); and (5) the signs selected by the user are automatically inputted to the editing position of the document. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
