PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developer which can be fixed at low temperature, solves a problem of high temperature offset resistance, has wide latitude for sleeve contamination and carrier surface contamination, has excellent cleaning property and gives an image of high picture quality without fog or irregular density in a wide range from an image of a small area to an image with a large area. SOLUTION: The two-component developer containing a carrier and toner which contains at least a binder resin, a coloring agent and a release agent is characterized in that: (i) the binder resin contains at least a polyester unit; (ii) the transmittance B(%) of the toner in a 45 vol% aqueous solution of methanol is in the range of 10≤B≤70; (iii) the endothermic curve by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of the toner shows one or a plurality of endothermic peaks in the range of 30 to 110°C, and the temperature Tsc of the maximum endothermic peak in the above endothermic peaks is in the range of 65°C<Tsc<105°C; and (iv) the carrier contains a resin coating layer and resin fine particles.
