PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for packaging a polyimide film roll in which the influence of moisture absorption and a residual solvent in the polyimide film roll is eliminated and crease is not formed even when stored for a long period. SOLUTION: The method for packaging the polyimide film roll comprises allowing a sheet material to stand without rolling the sheet material for three days of beginning after producing a polyimide film and covering the film with the sheet material since fourth day after production when the outside of the polyimide film roll is covered with the sheet material.
