IMAGE READER, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND IMAGE READING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the lighting state of an exposure lamp while executing a normal image read operation using an ADF (automatic document feeder) without providing a new white reference plate for detecting the lighting abnormality of the exposure lamp or increasing the light quantity at both ends of the exposure lamp. SOLUTION: An original guide plate provided at an original read position is read between the originals that are sequentially carried by the ADF to perform lamp abnormality detection processing for detecting the lighting state of the exposure lamp.
