PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sparks and abnormal heating generated in a space between a matching element and a long-side elongate surface of a waveguide. SOLUTION: A high-frequency heating device comprises: a heating chamber 2 for housing a food product 1; a magnetron 3 installed outside the heating chamber 2; and the waveguide 6 for connecting the heating chamber 2 to the magnetron 3; and is provided with the matching element 7 in the waveguide 6. The short-side length W2 of the waveguide 6 in the vicinity of a high-frequency wave feed port 5 of the waveguide 6 is set smaller than the short-side length W1 in the vicinity of the waveguide 6 with the magnetron 3 connected; the matching element 7 is formed into a projecting cylindrical shape having at least two different diametersϕ1 andϕ2; and the minimum diameterϕ1 surface side of the matching element 7 is fixed to a wall surface 6a of the waveguide 6 facing to a side wall surface of the feed port 5.
