PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically digitizing non-digitized physical data shown by a graph or the like and providing a coefficient of an approximate function. SOLUTION: This system comprises an arithmetic processor for digitizing and function-approximating image data as the physical data. The arithmetic processor comprises a reading part of the image data as the physical data, a data generation part for generating digitized data from the read image data, an error calculation part for determining the error between the generated data and an approximate function selected for the approximation thereof, a fitting coefficient determination part for determining the coefficient of the approximate function so as to minimize the error, and an output part for taking the deviation between the approximate function having the determined coefficient and the digitized data, when reaching a predetermined value or less, as an optimum fitting coefficient.
