<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an apparatus (or server) in one place to set arbitral function restrictions for arbitral image generation apparatuses concerning function restrictions for a plurality of image forming apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: License information to determine permission/non-permission of operation for a plurality of particular functions is defined. If a request signal of particular license information arrives from a request apparatus, it is determined whether the license information is managed as distributable information. If distributable, the particular license information is transmitted to the request apparatus. If abandonment information of the particular license information is received or use information of the particular license information is not received in a specified time, it is determined that the use right of the particular license information is returned, and then the particular license information is re-managed in a license management part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
