PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting robot which mounts a component 2 at an arbitrary position of a workpiece 1 without newly requiring a workpiece holding member and workpiece supporting member for receiving a mounting load charged to the workpiece 1 when the component 2 is mounted to the workpiece 1 by a mounting head 5. SOLUTION: When a chuck fixture 6 integrally mounting to the mounting head 5 moves in the mounting direction of the component 2 and mounts the component 2 to the workpiece 1, the mounting load charged to the workpiece 1 is certainly received by a second workpiece holding member 7b. Therefore, even when new workpiece holding member and workpiece supporting member do not exist, the component 2 is accurately mounted to the arbitrary position of the workpiece 1 without tilting the workpiece 1. One kind of mounting head 5 can support mounting of the component 2 to the arbitrary position of a workpiece 1 having a complex shape and a workpiece 1 having a various shape.
