PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a person having no expert knowledge to search for a document with high precision. SOLUTION: This document search device is provided with a classification feature quantity computing means 103 computing classification feature quantity showing a feature of document classification information, a interim similarity computing means 106 computing an interim similarity between a search query 105 and a classification feature quantity, and a search means 101 searching the document according to the interim similarity. A document feature quantity vector based on an appearance frequency of a search word is represented by CD, a classification feature quantity of each classification defined in a similar manner is represented by CL, and a document feature quantity of a search sentence is represented by Q. Similarities between Q and CD and between Q and CL are computed, and according to these values, search is carried out, and a display according to the descending order of the similarity is given.
