PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of easily cleaning an imaging device or the like in a camera. SOLUTION: When a cleaning device 3 is attached to the lens mount 2 of a lens interchangeable type digital camera 1, power is supplied from the camera 1 and a controller 19 is started. When the starting switch 23 of the device 3 is turned on, whether the camera 1 is set to a cleaning mode is decided. When it is decided that the camera 1 is set to the cleaning mode, an air blower 20 is actuated, and a nozzle 21 is extended to the vicinity of an optical low-pass filter 7. Then, air is blown from the nozzle 21 so as to blow off dust adhering to the surface of the filter 7. By radiating light from a light source 22 to the filter 7 and picking up an image with imaging device 9, the dust adhering state of the filter 7 is detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
