PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which is small in size, light in weight and properly corrects a curve of a scanning line and to provide an image forming device having the optical scanner. SOLUTION: Thickness of a planar mirror 134 is gradually reduced starting from the side, which is pressed by an adjusting screw 152, to its opposite side and cross section second moment is made unsymmetrical along a main scanning direction. When only a tip end side is pressed, the mirror 134 is symmetrically bent along the scanning direction. Thus, a curve of a scanning line (an optical beam) is effectively corrected in a properly balanced manner compared with a planar mirror 184 in which cross section second moment is made uniform. Since the above is accomplished by pressing only one tip end side of the planar mirror 134 along the longitudinal direction, the size of the optical scanner is made small and the weight is reduced.
