PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent supply electric power for a rise operation of a fixing device from coming short. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with the fixing device 3 for heating and fixing the toner image formed on a recording material and a main power source unit 20 capable of supplying the electric power to the fixing device 3. The apparatus is provided with an auxiliary power source section 21 and a part (an auxiliary power source unit 22) of the electric energy thereof is used exclusively for a specific application (the rise operation of the fixing device).
