PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a planetary gear drive capable of reducing the generation of vibration and noise. SOLUTION: The planetary gear drive comprises a sun gear 2 formed coaxially with an input shaft 1, a large pinion 3a making contact with the outer peripheral surface of the sun gear and transmitting rotation of the input shaft, an composite pinion 3 consisting of a small pinion 3b formed coaxially with the large pinion, a ring gear 4 gearing with the small pinion and unrotatably fixed, and a carrier 8 rotatably supporting the small pinion and coupled with an output shaft 9. The numbers of the teeth of the sun gear and the ring gear are set to the integral number as many as the number of the composite pinions, and the large pinion and the small pinion are formed in such a phase that a phase of 0.5 pitch is given to a working pitch between the sun gear and the large pinion and the working pitch between the ring gear and the small pinion.
