Desalinating salt water, especially sea water, to produce drinking water, by contacting with microorganisms mutated by electromagnetic radiation to cause precipitation of salt

Desalinating salt water using microrganisms involves exposing the microorganisms (specifically bacteria or yeasts) in a bioreactor to electromagnetic radiation (optionally of alternating frequency) to induce mutation, mixing with the salt water under gentle stirring, in presence of a natural product mixture as growth-promoting reagent; (c) completely removing the salt crystals precipitated at the base of the bioreactor by decantation, is new. Desalinating salt water using microrganisms involves: (a) exposing the microorganisms (specifically bacteria or yeasts) in a bioreactor to electromagnetic radiation (optionally of alternating frequency) to induce mutation; (b) mixing with the salt water under gentle stirring, in presence of a natural product mixture as growth-promoting reagent; (c) completely removing the salt crystals precipitated at the base of the bioreactor by decantation; (d) filtering off the microbial biomass from the remaining bioreactor contents; and (e) using the obtained water as drinking water.
