PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for a heavy load capable of reducing noise outside a vehicle by contriving a way of forming a sipe provided in a block so as to reduce a primary component without having any adverse influence on a high-order component, especially a secondary component. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire for the heavy load forming a block 16 in tread 10 by longitudinal grooves 12 extending in a tire peripheral direction and lateral grooves 14 arranged at intervals in a peripheral direction, a sipe 18 is provided so that the block 16 is divided. When the apexes of corner sections which face with each other and forming the longest diagonal line of the block 16 are determined as a point A and a point B, and the middle points of the right and left sides of the block 16 are respectively determined as a point C and a point D, the sipe 18 is provided so as to divide the block 16 within the area enclosed by the points A, B, C and D and incline against the lateral grooves 14.
