PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container constituted so as to realize an increase in inner volume and a decrease in the height of a fish box without lowering strength and its lid, a method for inexpensively manufacturing them and a mold for molding them. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the container made of a foamed synthetic resin, an in-mold foam molding method employs a mold shaped so as to mold the bottom part of the container and/or the wall thickness of the ceiling part of the lid in a thickness smaller than the wall thickness of the side wall of the container, and a gap formed by adding the the dimension corresponding to the reduction of the wall thickness to the gap is filled with prefoamed beads in the filling process.
