PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus outputting a copy free from image staining by offset toner and restraining the wasteful consumption of a cleaning web. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing means having a heating roller and a cleaning means for cleaning the surface of the heating roller by feeding the cleaning web has a control means which decides the feeding amount of the cleaning web of the cleaning means on the basis of the blackening rate of an output image obtained from image data.
