<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera for simply and properly executing setting of a region of interest and/or a region of a tile. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes an imaging section, a guide section, a display section, and a compression processing section, which are explained below. That is, the imaging section images an object to generate image data. The guide section determines a guide indication for guiding a user to a recommended layout in response to selection of a type of a photographing object by the user. The display section composes the monitoring purpose image data imaged by the imaging section with the determined guide indication and displays the result. The compression processing section selects an image region set in advance corresponding to the determined guide indication to be the ROI and/or the tile used for image compression and applies image compression to the recording purpose image data imaged by the imaging section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
