PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus for removing toner from an intermediate transfer medium of an image forming apparatus by use of a blade, whose cleaning performance can be enhanced without increasing the number of parts of the cleaning apparatus. SOLUTION: In the cleaning apparatus to remove toner from an intermediate transfer medium of a double face simultaneous image forming apparatus by use of a blade, a cleaning rubber blade held by a holder made of a conductive material is disposed on a seamless belt made of a non-conductive material as a toner carrying body for intermediate transfer rotated by a rotation supporting member made of a conductive material, and a bias in the opposite polarity to the polarity of the charges of the toner on the belt is applied between the holder and the rotation supporting member so as to generate an electric field from the rubber blade to the conductive rotation supporting member.
