PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated circuit and an inspection method thereof that enable an inspection using an inspection program even after packaging and enable reliable prevention of execution of a malicious program after the inspection. SOLUTION: At a start of the integrated circuit 10, a processing part 40 reads in and executes a boot program stored in an internal memory 50. The boot program inspects a memory 20 for damage by, for example, comparing values written into and read from the same address. If the memory inspection reveals no damage to the memory 20, an arbitrary program input from an interface part 30 of the integrated circuit 10 is permitted to be executed, or if the memory 20 is damaged, a program input from the interface part 30 is prohibited from being executed.
