<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain excellent display quality in a color filter substrate and a transflective liquid crystal display device by ensuring both brightness of reflective display and saturation of transmissive display, reducing a difference in color between the reflective display and transmissive display and further reducing recessions occurring on the color filter surface so as to reduce deterioration of display quality produced by uneven thickness of a liquid crystal layer to a level having practically no problem. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection layer 211 provided with an aperture part 211a is formed on a substrate 201, and thereafter, a light transmission layer 214 is partially formed, and a color filter 212 provided with coloring layers 212r, 212g and 212b is formed on them. Thick parts 212TH provided in areas where the light transmission layer 214 is not formed are formed in the coloring layers. The thick parts have 1.0-3.0 μm thickness. The coloring layers except for the thick parts have 0.2-1.5 μm thickness, and further the thickness ratio of the thick parts to the coloring parts except for the thick parts is 2-6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
