PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve both of locking strength and reliance on operation without increasing the size and weight in a recliner of internal gear type. SOLUTION: The recliner is composed of a first turning member 1 including an internal gear 7 and a second turning member 2 including lock plates 21, 22, and 23. Pressure anglesαbetween the internal gear 7 and each tooth of lock gears 21b, 22b, 23b are set within the range of 40°-50°, while the lock plates 21, 22, and 23 are supported by rocking support shafts 25, 26, and 27 arranged so as to be substantially coincident with a line L3 of action and the meshed states thereof are retained and released by a rocking restriction means 15.
