PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video monitor electric opening/closing device whose installation place is not limited and which electrically opens and closes a large-sized video monitor by using a completely different system from the conventional opening/closing system. SOLUTION: The video monitor has a large-sized video monitor part 2 of≥10 inches provided to a housing 11 which can easily be fitted. The electric opening/closing device for the video monitor moves arm lock parts 131 and 132 and frame lock parts 33A and 33B along 1st and 2nd rail grooves 210 and 220 by moving on the upper end of the video monitor part 2 through a speed-reducing motor 112 and a steel wire 114, according to signals inputted by an operation panel 403a or a remote control part to move the video monitor 2 from a horizontal storage state to a vertical state and also adjust the video monitor part to an angle matching a field angle by support arms 13A and 13B. Consequently, a user is able to appreciate a picture in a vehicle or building where the picture needs to be viewed without spoiling beauty nor being an obstacle at the appreciation place.
