PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer roller which uses the principles of an electrophotography system and causes no trouble resulting from a gap. SOLUTION: The image transfer roller is constituted by fixing a transfer layer around a mandrel, and the transfer layer is formed by providing a voltage-resistive layer on the lower surface of a peeling layer where an image is formed and transferred, laminating a conductive compressive layer on the voltage-resistive layer, and fixing a conductive compressive layer on the mandrel across a conductive adhesive layer. The peeling layer is formed of fluorine-based resin or elastomer, and its surface tension is≤20 mN/m. Then the thickness of the peeling layer is≥0.01 mm. Further, the thickness of the voltage-resistive layer is preferably≥0.2 mm and has 10<SP>5 to 9</SP>Ωcm volume electric resistivity at room temperature and≤80 JIS-A matrix hardness. Furthermore, the conductive compressive layer preferably has 10<SP>4</SP>≤Ωcm volume electric resistivity at room temperature and a 30 to 70% gap rate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
